The end of Season Five is upon us and as always there are some interesting battles brewing... The top 5 seem pretty set in stone pending Cheddar's time-off request, though we have a good battle for 6th, 7th and 8th between axl, zigger23 and myself. The coveted 10th and final Champions League spot is also up for grabs among RHINALDO, JalenJackson, mumby and marquinho, who is clearly our Rookie of the Season. After joining the league in the 4th LvL, it's very impressive that marquinho's already nipping at the heels of our top ten squads. The relegation zone holds a hopeless magicmatt, one trick pony plagiarism and newcomer andre. doublestan could find themselves in trouble should these bottom 3 show activity in our last LvL of season five. Last season's 2nd and 4th place teams, Marcos and keshasleftnt, have both missed an LvL this season which has opened up a couple Champions League spots for the rest of us. Come on in! Congrat's to Sherv on being the 1st player other than jeff_69 and Marcos to earn the MOTT (highest scoring player of the LvL) since we've been recognizing it. Well done! jeff_69 has a commanding lead in season five and currently sits 37 goals ahead of 2nd place GuoAn. doublestan, plagiarism and a dead-out-of-the-gate magicmatt all sit in our relegation zone with 4 LvL's to go. Sorry, most of you are probably too young for a Short Circuit reference! 🤖 We're mid-way through season five and we've had a bit of a shuffle in league membership. Custos2.0 bid farewell after conceding that they hadn't been very active lately (though certainly not among our worst performers) and we had a couple new members go in & out (who wouldn't want to stay?). Once the dust settled we ended up with 4 new members in magicmatt (who's already dead in the water), andre, marquinho and rianolf. Marcos has scooped up all 3 MOTT (Man of the Tourney) awards so far and will be looking to secure his first season title following jeff_69's run of 3-in-a-row (Sherv won our inaugural new season format). Marcos and jeff_69 can now choose to play their Canadian Shield rematch after Marcos won the first instance of this new Canadian Blend trophy. We're also now ready to play our full league championship tournament now that the last Champions League tournament ...

LvL #10 of Season Four is underway with jeff_69 well-positioned to take his 3rd of 4 Canadian Blend league titles. The bottom section of our top 10 contains a few players, including myself, who will need a strong LvL #10 performance in order to secure a Champions League position. Despite some action from 2 of our bottom 3, ajrxp66 and stevenD, they won't be able to do enough going forward to catch plagiarism or zigger23 in order to avoid relegation. nlfc will join them in league-hunting once the LvL concludes. We'll collectively lose 225 caps in these players who have each been with us for at least 60 LvLs respectively. Bon voyage! ICYMI I posted about the 'Protect The Ship' trick in the chat. Just tap the ball lightly into the middle of the pitch and the ball will either sit there as the sharks crash into it or the other player will run out to retrieve the ball and stand in front of the sharks. 2 LvL's left in Season 3 and our 4th win of the season after our opponents literally didn't show up. The final score was 596-34 against fifa 2017! Sherv just might be making a run at the top 3 as PKC and I will try and nudge each other out for 6th place. The battle for the 10th and final spot in our Champions League is looking interesting as RacingMaster, Iamgazel and Simon all seem to be possible candidates. At the bottom xerxes, HAMILTON and munchuster all continue to be sure bets for relegation this season which leads me to another rule change! Starting in the next LvL (#9 in Season 3) we will be relegating 3 teams per season IN ADDITION to any automatic relegations. So, if say the bottom 2 teams don't play at all come the end of the season, the 3 teams above them will also be relegated (5 in total). Glad we got that one in to improve our record to 3 wins and 4 loses this season. jeff_69, Marcos and GuoAn are starting to distance themselves as this season's top 3, while RHINALDO and Deutchlander both participated in tournament #7 in an attempt to crawl out of the relegation zone which currently holds HAMILTON and munchuster. Xerxes is at risk of automatic releagtion should they not play in the next 3 LvL's. Our lone rookie this season, doublestan, is off to a good start and we look forward to having him for a full 10 LvL's once we hit season 4. Reminder that there will be 2 mandatory squad relegations this season plus any automatic relegations for zero participation. In order to improve the competitiveness of the league I am considering increasing the # of teams relegated each season to 3 (plus automatics). Any input would be appreciated, though it seems like the best move as we're still carrying fairly inactive players from season to season. Fo...
