Canadian Blend - FIFA Mobile League

Season Nine has wrapped up and Marcos has claimed his very first season title! Hard to believe for a 144 OVR squad, right? Congrat's Marcos! 🏆 With the new FIFA Mobile platform scheduled to arrive November 7th, it looks like we should be able to squeeze in one last season before I hang up my league administrator boots. Season Ten will therefore be referred to as Season X: The Last Season. Relegation has claimed JalenJackson, whip and newcomer FUTBOLLERSFC. Well, FIFA Mobile 19 is set for launch on November 7th. I've managed to get in as a beta tester but haven't had a chance to play with it much. If I do I'll get a post up here about my experience. Anyone else beta testing? We're halfway through Season Nine of Canadian Blend and I'm hoping we can squeeze in a Season Ten before FIFA Mobile 18 wraps up. However, I'm sad to say that I will not be maintaining Canadian Blend through to the next version of the game. As fun as it's been, the administration of the table, blog and league has used up quite a bit of my free time and as you all know it takes a good chunk of time each day just to be a competitive player in the first place. I do plan on playing the next version, just without the added responsibility of a league. First of all, congrat's on winning 6 of our last 7 LvL's in Season Seven! Quite a turnaround since slumping in S6. However, all good things must come to an end and we've started Season Eight by losing 1,188 to 210! Wow. That's the lowest number of goals we've ever scored in an LvL since the new season format began and the highest score from an opponent. Pretty sure we played the same league in Season Five and beat them! I've adjusted the table and league rules (see Summary & Rules ) to drop the Active %. This was actually a somewhat redundant value as these factors are being considered through the 'Played' and 'DNP' values. The Active % created an issue at the end of Season Seven when speedy appeared in the top 10 after playing just one LvL (100% Active %). This revised format puts more weight on the number of LvL's you've played during the season. I remembered we were going to do a top 16 Champions League less than one second...

Thought I'd take a snapshot of our table sorted by caps (number of tournaments played since our records began). Naturally, I sit at the top with 155 caps followed closely by league long-timers Iamgazel (150), Deutchlander (150) and RacingMaster (147). Keshasleftnt rounds out our top 8 with 100 caps as of today - congrat's! Honourable mention to mumby on hitting the 50 mark. We have quite a few freshmen in the squad this season with 8 teams under 10 caps. We'll see which ones have the staying power to avoid relegation and rise to glory! Our cumulative total caps for all players currently in the league is 1,927. That's a lot of LvLs! Season 7 is underway along with our S6 Champions League tournament. Our rather sucky season six is coming to a close and has left us with some interesting scenarios at the top and bottom of the table. Typical top tens like Marcos, jeff_69, e_madman76, whip, Cheddar, PKC and FCHuevos have all missed LvLs this season which has allowed squads like mine to float up the table. With sizable gaps between the top 5, it would be hard to imagine those positions changing after our last LvL concludes. At the bottom, things are getting ugly (as they usually do down there). Stryker has been automatically relegated as we're sitting at an odd numbers of entries for LvL #10, which means that we have to leave out our bottom player, stripping Stryker of their last chance at safety (not to mention they're using their 90 OVR Retro squad). Though sitting in the relegation zone, Sherv was granted time-off this season and holds the coveted green safety card. The idea of a 2nd Canadian Blend league has been floated on a couple of occasions. I like the concept, though there are a few details that we would need to hash-out. I've started a new page here where we can begin to plot out the league and discuss its functionality. I wish I could say that I'm willing to start a 2nd FIFA Mobile account to run the league, but I'm afraid I don't have the time/energy for that. I would like to hear from any existing league members who may be interested in this role. It would be my aim to share administration of this blog so that both leagues could be managed together. I'd also like to put the name 'Canadian Brew' out there... 🤣

We're 4 LvL's deep into Season Six with only 1 win in our pocket and an abysmal 68.47 Active % (compared to 79.93% at the end of last season). We've been hit with a new member drop, vacations, Retro squads and some missed matches by otherwise 100% active players. On the bright side, I'm 4th! 🠝 Marcos is carrying 2 MOTTs with jeff_69 (our current table leader and latest Champions League winner) and GuoAn snagging the other two top scorer awards this season. 🏆 Sumit has been dealt a yellow card for continuing to play his Retro squad in the league and will be given a chat warning as well. Should this continue, a second yellow may be dealt, followed by the inevitable red card (I'll let you guess what happens if you get a red card in Canadian Blend!). 👋 Note, any player with an OVR below 97 (or whatever the OVR of our lowest player currently is) will be left out of LvL matches and dealt a warning if not corrected after 3 tournaments.
